Buying property in another country always comes with questions, and Cayman real estate has a few of its own. Here are answers to the ones we hear most often from buyers just starting to look.
How do I search for property on this site?
Use the search bar at the top of the homepage. Choose Buy or Rent, enter a location such as Seven Mile Beach or Camana Bay, and the results update automatically. Sold and expired listings are filtered out, so what you see is what is actually available.
Can someone from outside the Cayman Islands buy property here?
Yes. There are no restrictions on foreign ownership, and overseas buyers can purchase freehold property the same way a resident can. Financing works a little differently for overseas buyers, and our agents walk you through what applies before you make an offer.
What does Cayman Islands residency by investment actually involve?
It is a route to residency based on a qualifying investment in property here rather than employment. The requirements and thresholds carry specific rules, and they are worth understanding properly before a purchase is built around them.
Is the cost of living in the Cayman Islands high?
Yes. Day to day costs run higher here, mostly because so much is imported. But that's not really the question worth asking. What's the cost of safety? Of confidence? Of knowing your family and your investment are both protected? It's expensive to live in the Cayman Islands, but look at what that buys you, look at where you live, and look at the life you're actually living.
Which neighborhoods should I look at first in Grand Cayman?
It comes down to lifestyle more than budget in most cases. Seven Mile Beach suits people who want walkable beach access and nightlife nearby, Camana Bay suits a more residential, planned community feel, and Rum Point suits buyers after something quieter and more secluded.
